Celebrate Women’s History Month at the Virginia War Museum with Women at War, a special event honoring the service, sacrifice, and leadership of women in the United States military - past and present.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore unique collections and interact with community partners through engaging exhibits and hands-on activities. From the American Revolution to the Global War on Terror, this program highlights the vital roles women have played in military history and the continuing impact of their service today.
Event activities include:
• Collections Showcase featuring artifacts connected to women who served in the U.S. military from the American Revolution through modern conflicts
• Modern Military & Veterans Showcase with active duty, retired, and veteran women sharing personal stories and items from their time in service
• Menchville High School JROTC Showcase & STEM Demonstration, featuring young women demonstrating the use of STEM in JROTC, including robotics
This event is included with general museum admission and offers a meaningful way to honor the women who have shaped military history through courage, innovation, and dedication.
