Virginia Guide Service History Week 2026

Virginia Guide Service History Week 2026

About

The Virginia Guide Service invites you to join us for our first-ever Public History Week, taking place April 6 to 11. For those who may not know, the Virginia Guide Service is a completely independent, student-run nonprofit organization where students research the history of Charlottesville and the University of Virginia, write their own tours, and share them with the public! Our goal with Public History Week is to further our mission of encouraging students and community members to engage with and reflect on the importance of accessible, shared historical resources.

Throughout the week, the Guide Service will offer an expanded tour schedule featuring specialty tours such as History of Women, History of Medicine, and History of African Americans, alongside our regular student-written historical tours. EVENTS SCHEDULE
