Dedication of Lovettsville's Liberty Tree

Dedication of Lovettsville

About

The Town of Lovettsville and Lovettsville Historical Society will introduce and unveili a newly planted ceremonial liberty tree with commemorative plaque, a LINDEN. Lovettsville is known as "the German Settlement"--and the linden tree is planted at the center of many German towns and villages as a civic gathering place for meetings, celebrations, and shared purpose. The tree will serve that purpose in its location next to the town hall, a legacy of the Town's participation in the VA 250. After a brief historical program, the Town Council then adjourns to Council Chambers to issue a ceremonial 250 proclamation, commemorating the 250th birthday of Virginia Independence on the following day, May 15th.
